Floors in factories and industrial halls, where large and heavy machines have their daily operation, are often exposed to high daily activity and heavy load. Therefore, repairs and maintenance of the floors are also required to a greater extent.
In some cases, a repair may be sufficient if there is a local damage to the floor, but if the floor has been worn for many years, or if a new type of coating is needed, the solution is a concrete milling of the floor.
Concrete milling removes the residues from a given surface’s previous coating and adhesive residues, so that the basis for effective adhesion is optimal, for a new coating. At JTI Gulventreprise, we have our own Wirtgen W35 Ri concrete cutter, which mills in both concrete and asphalt, for example for bridge renovations as shown in the videos on this page, but can of course also mill in both epoxy, Ucrete and polyurethane floors.
The concrete milling takes place by the concrete milling machine with milling knives cutting into the floor to the desired depth, after which a suction ensures that dust and concrete are collected at the same time. The milling knives can cut from 5mm all the way down to 110mm in depth, and after the milling depths have been deposited on the old coating, the heights are coded into the concrete cutter while it is running.
